Pretoria, South Africa-Tekete SafeSpace is proud to announce that its short course, Guardian of Privacy: Digital Ethics and Mandatory Reporting within the Tekete Safe Space, has officially received endorsement from the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
The course has been awarded 5 Continuing Professional Teacher Development (CPTD) points. The endorsement recognises Tekete Safe Space’s contribution toward educator development and learner safeguarding within South African schools.
The programme was developed to address the growing need for ethical digital practices, learner protection, and responsible reporting within schools. As educational institutions continue to navigate challenges related to bullying, abuse reporting, confidentiality, and learner wellbeing, Tekete Safe Space aims to support educators with practical tools and knowledge that strengthen safeguarding practices in school communities.
“We believe that learner safety begins with creating spaces where young people feel heard, protected, and empowered to speak without fear. This endorsement is not only recognition of our work, but also a step toward building safer and more ethically responsible school communities across South Africa,” said Matau Andronica Ramapuputla, Innovator of Tekete Safe Space.
This milestone also marks the conclusion of Tekete Safe Space’s free monthly webinar series, which has been hosted over the past few months to engage school communities and promote awareness around learner safety and digital ethics. Moving forward, future webinars will form part of a structured professional development offering aligned to the SACE-endorsed short course, providing a more formalised learning pathway for educators and school stakeholders.
